Kujawsko-Pomorski Kurator Oświaty Marek Gralik zyskał w ostatnim czasie rozgłos medialny, za sprawą listu jaki wystosował do dyrektorów szkół i nauczycieli w sprawie ,,Halloween”. Wydźwięk większości tych publikacji jest drwiący z autora listu, inaczej byłaby to słaba sensacja. W stylu – kolejny nawiedzony czepia się… lub zajmuje się sprawami mało ważnymi.

Jeżeli treść listu przeanalizujemy bez szukania sensacji, to niesie ona dla nauczycieli dwie informacje – szkoła powinna promować przede wszystkim polskie zwyczaje. Przy okazji Wszystkich Świętych warto chociażby promować potrzebę udziału młodych Polaków przy opiece nad miejscami pamięci narodowej. Ważną rolę odgrywa w tym przykład niesiony młodemu pokoleniu przez pedagogów. Stąd też kurator Gralik wyraża w liście podziękowanie tym nauczycielom, którzy w tego typu dzieła się angażują.

 

Gdy Polacy 1 i 2 listopada staną nad grobami bliskich w zadumie, Amerykanie 31 października obchodzą Halloween, przebierają się za duchy, zombi; odbywają się w tym duchu parady. Zmarłych Amerykanie wspominają natomiast w maju. Jeżeli spojrzymy na genezę Halloween, to zauważymy, że w przeszłości w ten dzień żegnano lato i witano zimę. Przekaz niesiony przez Halloween jest zatem dość trudny do pogodzenia z dniem Wszystkich Świętych.

 

W Polsce Halloween jest przede wszystkim komercyjną modą. Jej popularność może być w danym roku większa lub mniejsza, w zależności od społecznego popytu. Wydaje się, że państwowa Szkoła nie jest specjalnie miejscem do jej promocji. Wypełnianie przez Szkołę swojej misji wymaga promocji wartości jakie niesie Wszystkich Świętych, również podkreślania, że Halloween to nie jest polski zwyczaj, który również niezbyt godzi się wobec świąt obchodzonych tradycyjnie 1 i 2 listopada. Kurator Marek Gralik w swoim liście tylko o tym przypomniał. Został za to przez media wyśmiany.

 

Realizacji misji społecznej trudno oczekiwać od mediów, które podążają za popytem na aktualne w danym momencie mody. Tę misję powinna zatem z jeszcze większym naciskiem sprawować polska Szkoła.
