Pięć lat temu opublikowałem książkę pt ZAWODOWIEC. Była
to rozmowa z Beatą Modrzejewską o moim zawodowym życiu .Pierwsze pytanie było takie:
„– W ostatniej chwili zmieniłeś tytuł książki z „Zawód: dziennikarz” na „Zawodowiec”. Dlaczego?
– Bo zawód dziennikarz skiepścił się nam jakoś. Kiedyś,
jeszcze niedawno, był to zawód społecznego zaufania, tak bym
powiedział. Dziś dziennikarz częściej kojarzy mi się bardziej
z propagandzistą, agitatorem działającym na rzecz jednej grupy –
przeciwko drugiej. Zrodziły się szczujnie. Kolega, któremu dałem
przeczytać te wspomnienia, spytał: „To z jakiej jesteś szczujni?”.
I tak zostałem zawodowcem. „
Po pięciu latach ze spokojnym sumieniem mogę powiedzieć więcej: skończyło się w Polsce prawdziwe dziennikarstwo. W telewizjach, radiach, tygodnikach i gazetach rządzą agitatorzy. Gdy jedni są „za” – inni „przeciw”. I odwrotnie. Współczuję widzom, słuchaczom i czytelnikom. Kropka.
